Otmoor 22nd Feb

The female Marsh harrier was seen flying over the reedbed this morning. 3 or 4 Water rail were heard calling from the reeds. Cetti's warbler was singing up by the 2nd screen. Large flock of Golden plover and Lapwing were seen flying around the reserve.

Short-Eared Owl,Gloucestershire 21st Feb

Spent a few hours at the Short-eared Owl site today. As soon as I arrived at the site, one bird was seen flying around the field. It flew around the field for about an hour, quite distant most of the time but did occasionally come a bit closer. The bird then landed in the field and never came back up again for the next hour an a half I was there for.
1 Barn Owl was also seen along with 2 Stonechat and the odd Raven.
