Wasp Spider, Oxfordshire.

 Wasp Spider

 Wasp Spider

 Wasp Spider
Found by Roger and Sue, the Wardens at withymead Nature reserve. 1st Record for Oxfordshire? or possibly the 2nd? as there is a report of one found in Nyatt's field thats in between Barton field and orchard lake at Radley lakes in 2015. Thanks to both of them for the invite to catch up with it.
Addendum:- Wasp spider found by Judy webb and photographed by Ian smith in Marcham near Abingdon in August 2016 so Rogers spider is probably the 3rd Record for Oxfordshire?!

Farmoor Sunday 23rd April

I made another visit to Farmoor first thing this morning which was as grey and dull as the last time I came, although it did brighten up later. The Bonaparte's gull was again on the south side of FII flying around annoying the Great crested grebes and snatching their fish as soon as they came up from a dive.I managed to get more shots of the bird but the light really wasn't that great!

Farmoor Bonaparte's gull 20th April

I finally managed to find some time to catch up with the Bonaparte's gull at Farmoor this morning, unfortunately it must of been the most miserable day of the month so far with low cloud, mist and rain. Luckily the bird was showing well stood on a platform on the south side of FII with a Black headed gull. The bird looked almost as miserable as the weather. Fortunately I was able to grab a few shots.
