Farmoor Friday 25th march

Spent a few hours at Farmoor this morning to catch up with the returning summer plumaged Red necked grebe. The bird was again on the SW side of FII where it has resided for the last few springs. It was showing really well and seen to catch plenty of fish. The 2 Great northern divers were still present on FI.

Penduline Tits, Gloucestershire, Sat 16th Jan

Myself and Julie decided to head to Gloucester to catch up with the 2 Penduline Tits that have been frequenting the Horsebere flood storage pond for the last few days. The birds were seen feeding quite low down amongst the Reedmace though distant. I did managed to get a few record shots of them.

Farmoor 17th December

I made another visit to farmoor today in the hope of getting a few pics of the two G N divers together but unfortunately they weren't spending anytime in each others company. One bird was showing well on the N.east side of FII near the sailing club for a little while so I managed to grab a few shots of it, although the light wasn't that good! I also managed to take a few shots of a very confiding Little grebe that was feeding along the Eastern edge of FII and it was nice to see it up close rather than the usual wary bird diving and swimming away from you.
