Tigers and Orchids 16th May

Decided to make the most of the nice weather today so made a visit to BBOWT'S Sydlings copse reserve.Bluebells, Ramsons, Yellow Archangle, Greater Stitchwort e.t.c were all in flower. Hundreds of cowslips were in flower in the Limestone grassland, 100+ Early Purple Orchids were also seen in flower here.
3 Green Tiger Beetles were seen in the sandy area near the Gorze. Still quite a few spikes of Toothwort in flower at the base of some of the Hazels but past their best.
Orange Tip, Green Veined White and Small Totoiseshell were the only butterflies seen. 1 Burnet Companion moth was seen in the grassland.
